KICHERER tunes up a Mercedes SL 600

The best thing about Mercedes vehicles is that they continuously evolved into something that you would love more---sigh how I wish men are like that---anyway, the Mercedes SL Class which is one of the brand’s best-seller continues its success story only this time in a revised edition.

The revised edition Mercedes SL-Class is courtesy of course of the engineers and designers at KICHERER who have exerted all efforts just to enhance the Roadster’s exclusiveness and sporty looks. Thanks to the KICHERER K60 Biturbo 12-cylinder engine that was fitted with 605hp/445kW, the Mercedes SL 600 has turn into the most powerful Roadster in the world. It can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a matter of 4.3 seconds and accelerate further to 200 km/h after only 14.2 seconds. These are values that indicate extreme power just like the electronically limited peak speed of 300 km/h.

The new KICHERER SL K 60 boasts of its form and functionality to perfection. Aside from its classy appearance, the KICHERER aerodynamics components, which are now available for all current SL models have greatly improved the vehicle’s aerodynamics. This makes the vehicle stable even at high speeds plus the improved aerodynamics also reduces the lifting of the front axle also when running at extreme speed.

The new KICHERER SL K 60 probably is also equipped with cross drilled brake rotors with its power and speed the KICHERER SL K 60 would need to improve rotor cooling to defeat brake fade. By using the cross-drilled rotors, temperatures are reduced by as much as 200 degrees especially in times of extreme braking.

In addition, the components of the new SL K 60 are either made from high-quality carbon or of PURIM. The upgraded SL generation is also equipped with an exclusively shaped front apron, which is designed to reduce the front axle’s aerodynamic lift. A large central air intake was also placed to provide additional cooling for the engine and the front brakes.

To further enhance the sporty appearance of the SL K 60 shaded rear lights and rear lid were added together with an inside and outside mirror shells that were made of carbon. The sporty interior is boosts with the addition of F1 steering wheel with carbon gearshift paddles. The supplementary instruments inside the outlet nozzles as well as with other decorative elements made of genuine carbon have also enhanced the sporty look of the SL K 60.

The multi-part KICHERER RS-1 alloys have also become important part of the design since it provide the SL K 60 with its unique look. The two-seater is equipped with 20” rims---the front ones with 255/30 ZR 20 Pneus while the rear with the 305/25 ZR 20 tires courtesy by Continental.

And to further increase the Roadster’s extraordinary driving dynamics, KICHERER has developed an electronic programming for the ABC chassis which lowers the car body by approximately 25 millimeters.

The new KICHERER SL K 60 is also equipped with a high-performance brake system with xxl-sized ventilated and drilled brake discs that can easily cope with the most excessive strains. The sports exhaust not only helps in boosting the performance but is also nice to hear with its fine and unobtrusive sound symphony.
