Mercedes-Benz R-Class: Offering new seating configurations
The Mercedes-Benz R-Class has opened up even more possibilities especially in terms of seating arrangements. The line up which used to have six individual seat configurations has been enhanced to include a five-seat version and a seven-seat variant. Add to it the new and the distinctive body styling done on the front and rear end that enhance the SUV Tourer’s looks.

The new seating configuration that the R-Class possesses set the trend. Such exceptional automotive concept sort of combines the strengths of several vehicle classes---such as outstanding touring comfort, a high level of adaptability, excellent handling dynamics, an extra spacious accommodation including a vast luggage compartment that is coupled with an expressive design and the renowned Mercedes safety.

The SUV Tourer for the first time features a second row seats that can be occupied by three people creating a total of five seats plus providing a spacious load compartment. The short wheelbase version can offer 939 liters of luggage when loaded up to the roof on the other hand the long wheelbase models has a luggage compartment that can accommodate 1118 liters. The short wheelbase R Class can provide 2001 liters of luggage compartment while its long wheelbase version is unmatched with its 2436 liters of loading capacity.

The load compartment and the passenger dimensions of the R-Class make it as the most spacious model in the entire Mercedes-Benz passenger car range. Both versions also feature practical stowage compartments which were smartly placed under the load compartment floor with a capacity of 51 and 52 liters respectively. These stowage compartments are perfect for storing various items and keeping valuables away from probing eyes.

Mercedes-Benz R-Class is perfect for holiday trips for five people and their entire luggage on board. The SUV Tourer can handle everything with ease. And if in case the rear seat in the center is not needed, it can be converted into a comfortable center armrest in a flash. The second row seats have space that can accommodate three child seats or child restraint systems. The outer seats are equipped with ISOFIX attachment points and come with the option of side airbags to provide extra passive safety.

And speaking of safety the R-Class is fitted with seats equipped with three-point seat belts. There is also the addition of two individual seats at the rear to transform the R-Class into a 5+2-seater. The best thing about the R-Class is that despite its additional seats and the new seating arrangement it can still provide a comfortable riding experience which is made possible by convenience functions such as the fore/aft adjustment and EASY ENTRY which makes access to rear seats easier.

All the seats at the rear compartment may be folded down to facilitate extra luggage room. The previously mandatory 4+2 seat configuration is still being offered by Mercedes-Benz as an option.

The R-Class is not all interior but also boasts exterior features such as the highly distinctive body styling package at the front and rear, circular fog lamps, and 180inch light-alloy wheels for all V6 versions. The R500 4Matic which is the top-of-the-range is fitted with 19-inch wheels. Customers may also get to choose from three new paint colors namely: calcite white, sanidine beige or periclase green. Despite the remarkable features of the new R-Class, Mercedes-Benz still encourage its customers to apply their own personal touch to the SUV Tourer through customization that utilize high quality aftermarket parts and accessories such as Altezza tail light for instance to further enhance the rear portion of the vehicle and many more.
