As a high-flying businessman, it is no surprise that David Fishwick regularly takes to the skies above his native Lancashire. He holds a licence to fly both a light plane and a helicopter and his hobby is now an essential part of his working day. To avoid all the motorway jams and hold-ups, he regularly flies around the country to check out fleets of vans, minibuses and minicoaches. David's first forays into business came about when he started buying and selling cars to help make ends meet as an apprentice builder. After two years in the building trade, he opened his own car dealership in a rented garage. It wasn't long before he bought his first garage, then a larger one and started to sell the occasional second-hand van and minibus. In 1994, he switched exclusively to vans, minibuses and minicoaches and the business has since grown from strength to strength. In addition to David Fishwick Van and Minibus Sales, David owns a property company and a business that provides stage equipment for events such as Radio 1 roadshows. David Fishwick is also a big supporter of community sport. The company is a major sponsor of Championship club Burnley FC, non-league Colne FC and backs several community-based teams.
