Audi going strong for the 2007 DTM
Three Audi factory teams namely Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline, Rosberg, and Phoenix has entered the 2007 DTM season which is scheduled to start on April 22 at Hockenheim with strong partners. And for the first time the new designs of Audi A4 DTM cars can be seen in public at the DTM test days at the Motorsport arena Oschersleben starting Tuesday until Friday this week. The official presentation to open the season is going to be held on Sunday on the Kö in Dusseldorf.

Audi Sport has obtained the support of four global players due to its involvement in the most popular international touring car race series and these are Red Bull, Philips, the Schaeffler Group, and Siemens. Audi luxury unit of Volkswagen the producer of quality VW Scirocco part -- has also gained two large media partners—the AutoBild and Playboy. There are also several subsidiary brands of Audi AG has used the popularity of the DTM in promoting their products and services such as the Audi Bank, Audi Gebrauchtwagen:plus, Audi Top Service, and Quattro GmbH.

The two Audi A4 DTM cars of Mattias Ekstrom (Sweden) and Martin Tomczyk (Germany) compete since the year 2004 in the colors of Red Bull, the market leader in energy drink sector. And for this year’s blue is made significantly darker than in previous years coming inline with the global motorsport programmer of Red Bull.

Last season’s most successful Audi driver in DTM and Le Mans record winner Tom Kirstensen from Denmark has once again steer an Audi A4 DTM which in 2006 bare the logos of Siemens. The color for this year of the car is silver instead of white which was previously employed.

German Lucas Luhr is driving a white Audi A4 DTM and will advertise Philips, which is a global leading technology. Luhr will advertise Philip’s Flat Screen TV equipped with Ambilight background lightning. Another German driver Christian Abt will drive a now flat-black A4 DTM with two sponsors namely men’s lifestyle magazine Playboy and the Audi AG Gebrauchtwagen:plus programme.

Timo Scheider again from Germany will drive an Audi sportcar which was unveiled at the Audi Motorsport Launch & Lounge in Munich at the beginning of March and also painted flat-black and will advertise the Audi brands Gebrauchtwagen:plus and Audi Top Service. The new DTM boy Mike Rockenfeller will drive a red A4 DTM. The youngest Audi factory driver also gets support from the Quattro GmbH and its S line sport kits and also from Europe’s largest car magazine AutoBIld.

The Frenchman Alexandre Premat, just like Luhr and Rockenfeller will display Audi Bank on silver-gold A4. The Schaeffler Group for this year will use the DTM as a platform for three of their brands namely LuK, INA, and GAG. The Schaeffler Group is a development partner and production supplier for Audi. It will be present on the cars of Matthias Ekstrom and Mike Rockenfeller. The other Audi Sport partners for the 2007 DTM are Eibach Springs, O.Z. Racing (wheels), and PTC (Software Solutions).
